F Block Drama Rehearsal #1 ~ 11/12/07
You can give feedback two times if you notice additional points for constructive criticism after watching the video.
These comments were made by Nikki M. for each of the following performers:
This is for Jessi M.
She needs to speak up. But really all she needs is projection, and it’ll be a reeeally good performance. She did very well at the not moving around part. She kept her pace and she did well.
This is for Patrick.
He walked around a little too much. I think he should have paused, like, brought up dramtic attention. He just like, walked back and forth, taking the attention off of his performance, and onto his legs. I think it shows nervousness. He was good at the memorizing the lines part, though.:)
This is for Teri A.
I thought in the beginning she was swinging her arms. It wasn’t very good body posture. But, she did remember her lines well, and she emphasized them and it was otherwise awesome. I hope she does that good on the real thing!
This class is doing well with their parts but some of us including myself need to think about our movements and posture on stage.
his is for Jessi M.
You did well on stage but remember, SPEAK UP. Also, get those lines memorized!
This is for Wess C.
Wess, you did okay, but you need to face the audience and project your voice. Also, move around rather than just standing there. If that is corrected, your performance will be excellent.
1. What suggestions do you have to improve the overall production of the “Telltale Heart”?
I suggest that everyone memorize their lines to the point where they don’t have to think about it. This will help to make the play more professional and much better overall. Also, I think the lights should be very dark when the audience walks in. Then, everything can go dark, and a spotlight can suddenly flash onstage onto Ms. Nero, and she can begin talking.
2. What suggestions do you have for individual performers to improve upon?
(sorry I submitted w/o answering the second question)
Jessi M.
I think you did a good job, but I think you should talk a little lounder. It was kind of hard to hear what you were saying, but I think you talked at a good pace.
Peter B.
I think it’s good that you memorized your lines, but I think you should exxagerate your performance more. You’re character is going crazy and throwing chairs around, but when you say it, it’s doesn’t really have expression, and you kind of just push the chair down like you’re not really mad.
Josh S.
You did well. I just think you should put more emotion into your performance.
1. What suggestions do you have to improve the overall production of the “Telltale Heart”?
I think that overall, it was pretty good. I think maybe we could be more smooth on the transitions. We need to go on and off at the right time. Also, I think the lighting needs to be in better command. It seemed to be all over the place.
2. What suggestions do you have for individual performers to improve upon?
Patty W.
You are an excellent performer. You have great facial expressions and hand gestrures. I think that you need to be more confident when you are on stage. Just let it all out, that’s what I would do.
Michael B.
You are great on stage. You have great confidence and pronounciation. When you are acting out the murder, you need to let it out and scream. Act like you are thrashing the boy.
this is to todd,
Good job you sell your part well.
thisbe michael b

Laura, you did a good job moving around, but try to talk louder and with a higher voice.
laura, maybe use your hands more because i think you have a part where you can use it more, you did good with emotions though

Samir, you need better timing

This is for Todd:
I liked your performance Todd, you had great memorization, but your accent is a bit much, and I’m not sure the audience will be able to understand it too well.
This is for Patrick:
Your performance was really good too, but I think you need to work a little more and memorization and try not to laugh when you are doing your performance.
This is for Laura:
I think your performance was really good. There are not many movements that you can do for this part, but it was really good! I think you should speak a little louder and raise your pitch, it was a little too low.
This is for Wess:
I think you memorized it okay, but it was hard to tell. You need to project more, and face the audience. Your sounds get muffled when you face away.
This is for Sarah:
I think you did really really good, but you could speak a little louder, and work a little bit on your movements. You need to make sure you are facing the audience at all times, even when you are circling Samir.
This is for Terri:
Terri part was fawesome, but when your voice gets all high pitched when you are going crazy, you need to make sure you are talking louder and enunciate all the words.
This is for Samir:
I think you moaned at the wrong time. You need to work on timing, otherwise, you played dead really well.
This is for Michael:
Your performance was really well too, and you were really good at projection, but you need to work on your pausing.
This is for Me:
I need to make sure I am facing the audience the whole time. I also need to project my voice and work on my memorization.
This is for Josh:
You did really well with your projection, but I think you need to memorize your lines better so that all your movements are more planned out and fit your piece better.
1. What suggestions do you have to improve the overall production of the “Telltale Heart”? Some of the actors need a little more practice.
2. What suggestions do you have for individual performers to improve upon?

Jessi- Your a little to shy and I think you need to memorize your lines a little bit more but with a little mor practice i think it will be good.
Peter- good job!
I think that Todd did really good with his lines. Patrick likes needs to move aroud aroud more like he is getting in the room and look at the old man. Wess needes to talk more loudly and project his voice. Sarah did really goo with her moving around andd really getting into the mad man’s thoughts. Teri did a really goo jod and she was really good with her qoulme and she was good. Samir look like he knew what he was doing, go old man. Micheal was really good with his lines and they came really fluently. I htink that Jessi needs to speak a little louder. she also needs to know her lines more better. Josh also needs to need his lines and needs to get into the charater more.

This is for Todd:
Todd your performance is awesome. You memorized your lines, your movements on stage are good, and the emotion you put in your voice is convincing. Just don’t over due the accent and you’ll be fine.
This is for Patrick:
Patrick, you have done well on memorizing a large part but you did mess up once. But we all did a little. Your projection was really good and so was your posture.
This is for Laura:
You did good, just remember to project. You moved around alot and put emphasis in your voice. You need to actually sound like you have a mental problem because your character does.
This is for Wess C.
Wess, we cannnot hear you, you need to face us. But you memorized your lines. Also, move around some on stage rather than just standing there.
This is for Sarah G.:
Sarah you did a great job, you just need to project your voice and you’ll be great.
This is for me:
I think I did well, but I was swinging my arms in the begininng and my fists were bawled. This showed my nervousness so I will not do that on the actual performance.
This is for Samir A.:
You’re a great old man. Great job with that shreik. Haha
This is for Michael B.:
Micahel, I liked your performance, but I think it was more funny. You did sound crazy but it was crazy funny. Just keep that in mind but your performance was pretty convincing.
This is for Jessi M.
You did a great job, just remember to SPEAK UP and face the audience. Hopefully you have memorized your lines since then.
This is for Josh S.:
You did well but you need to memorize your lines. And speak up a little too.
Todd W. you did well as being your character.
Patrick W. when you say “very, very, slowly” I would slow down as you walk. You did well as being your character.
Laura you did well.
Wess I think you need to face the audience so they can hear you.
Sarah I would speak then look then speak again.
Teresa you did well being the character and volume.
Michel I wouldn’t walk back and fourth, walk around a little.
Jessica M. I would talk to the audience
Josh I think you need to memorize your lines.
